How it started

One tweet, a whole weekend of streams

Tracy had a "fabulously totally not doable idea": cover an entire GameBlast weekend in RuneScape and Old School, with a whole stream of little streams. The response was immense, and Jagex and SpecialEffect got involved too.

About SpecialEffect
  1. 2019Over £11,500 raisedOur first GameBlast, featured on the GameBlast19 site and RuneScape news.
  2. 2020Over £7,000 raisedBack for a second year with even more streamers.
  3. 2024Over £2,500 raisedA smaller team, still going strong.
We're recruiting

GameBlast27 is a whole month. Come and fill it with us.

2027 is SpecialEffect's 20th anniversary, so GameBlast runs all of February, from the 1st to the 28th, finishing with a Celebration Weekend. That's a lot of slots, and you don't need a big channel to take one.

What we ask of streamers

  1. Be on stream 10 to 15 minutes before your slot to check everything works.
  2. Have your JustGiving page linked to the Team UCoR page.
  3. Give a quick shout about SpecialEffect at the start, middle and end.
  4. Moderate your chat as normal. UCoR admins can help if you want them to.

Most importantly, just be you.
